A haircut can change more than someone’s appearance. It can restore confidence, create hope, and remind a person they matter. Our volunteer barbers and stylists provide free, high-quality grooming in a welcoming environment where every individual is treated with dignity, kindness, and respect.

How it works

Three ways to find us.

  1. Come to an outreach event

    We set up free grooming days across Jacksonville at shelters, schools, churches, and community sites. Walk-ups are welcome and there is no list to get on.

  2. Ask your shelter or case manager

    We partner with shelters, schools, churches, and case management programs. Staff there can reach us directly and hold a spot for you, which is often the easiest route.

  3. Send us a message

    Tell us what you need and we will reply with the next date and location. You do not have to explain your situation.

What to expect

Common questions

Do I really pay nothing?

Nothing. Our barbers and stylists volunteer their time, and supplies are covered by donations. There is no charge, no tip expected, and no catch.

Do I need an appointment?

No. Come to the event and we will add you to the queue in the order people arrive. Bring a little patience on busy days. We stay until we have worked through the line wherever we can.

Do I need ID or proof of anything?

No. We do not ask for identification, an address, a referral, or proof of income. We do not ask about your housing situation.

What services can I get?

Haircuts and clipper work, beard trims and shaping, and basic grooming. Hygiene kits are available to take with you while supplies last.

Can I bring my children?

Yes. Children are welcome and we cut children’s hair too. A parent or guardian needs to stay with them.

Will I be photographed?

Only if you say yes. We ask first, every time, and we will not photograph you or your children without written permission. Saying no never affects your haircut. If a photo of you is already published you can ask us to remove it and we will, within 72 hours, no questions asked.

Are the barbers licensed?

Yes. Our volunteer barbers and stylists hold current Florida licenses, and we follow standard sanitation practice: fresh capes and neck strips for every person, and tools disinfected between clients.
