Privacy

This website is deliberately simple. There are no accounts, no logins, and no advertising. We set no cookies, we run no analytics scripts, and we have never sold and will never sell anyone’s information.

The short version

No cookies are set by this site.
No tracking scripts and no third-party analytics.
No requests to other companies when you load a page. The fonts and images all come from this site.
No accounts, so there is nothing to sign up for and no password to lose.
No payments are taken on this site.
The only information we hold is what you choose to send us.

If you send us a message

The contact form asks for your name, email address, and message, and optionally a phone number and the reason you are writing. We use those details for one purpose: to read your message and reply to it.

When you submit the form, it is delivered to our email inbox (TrimmedWithCare@gmail.com). It is not saved into a database on this website, because the site has no database. Your message then lives in our email account for as long as we need it to help you, and we delete what we no longer need.

We do not add you to a mailing list, and we will not pass your details to anyone else.

Two companies handle the message on the way to us: Cloudflare, which hosts this website, and Resend, which delivers the email. Both act on our instructions and only for this purpose. Our inbox is a Google Gmail account.

Spam protection, and what we deliberately do not do

To stop automated spam, the form includes a hidden field that a person never sees, and it records how long the page was open before you pressed send. We also limit how many messages can be sent from one internet connection in a short period.

We deliberately do not use a CAPTCHA, one of those “prove you are human” puzzles. They are a genuine obstacle for people using older phones, screen readers, or a borrowed device, and those are exactly the people this site exists to reach.

Server logs

Like every website, ours is reached through a server that keeps short-lived technical records of requests: the page requested, the time, a browser identifier, and an IP address. Cloudflare keeps these to deliver the site and to block attacks. We use them only in aggregate, to know roughly how many people visited. We do not build profiles and we cannot identify you from them.

We do not set cookies. Cloudflare may set a single security cookie if it needs to check that a request is genuine, for example if traffic looks like an attack. That cookie is used only for security, not for advertising or tracking you between sites.

Photographs

This is the part that matters most to us, because the people we serve deserve more care than a standard policy gives them.

We ask first, every time. Nobody is photographed at one of our events without being asked.
Adults sign a written release before we publish a photo in which they can be recognized.
A parent or guardian consents for a child. We do not publish a recognizable photograph of a minor on any other basis.
Saying no never affects your haircut. Not ever, not in any way. You do not owe us a photograph in exchange for a service.
We do not publish names alongside photographs of the people we serve.
We never describe someone as homeless in a caption or in image descriptions. We do not know an individual’s circumstances, and it is not ours to publish.
Removal on request, within 72 hours, no questions asked. If a photograph of you or your child is on this site and you want it gone, call (904) 476-7997 or email TrimmedWithCare@gmail.com. You do not have to explain why, and we will not ask.

Photographs of our own volunteers and staff are published with their agreement.

Children

This website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information through this site, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices

Because we hold so little, this is straightforward. You can ask us what we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, including any message you have sent us and any photograph of you. Call (904) 476-7997 or email TrimmedWithCare@gmail.com.

You do not need to give a reason, and asking will never affect the services you receive from us.

Where we link to another organization, that site has its own privacy practices and we are not responsible for them.

Changes

If we change how we handle information, for example when our online giving portal goes live, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
